If there’s anything New Orleans knows best, it’s food and the paranormal. Combine the two, and you’ve got Muriel’s, one of the most haunted places in New Orleans. Not only will you have a delicious meal, but you might have yourself a little paranormal encounter during your visit. Let’s check it out.
When it comes to historic buildings, few can compare to the majestic Muriel’s in Jackson Square.
Sometime in the early 1800s, Pierre Antoine Lepardi Jourdan purchased the property, restored it to its days prior to the fire, and built his ultimate dream home. Unfortunately, he bet his home in a poker game in 1814, and lost the one thing he loved more than anything—his home.
There have been countless paranormal experiences throughout the years, ranging from glimmers of light bouncing through the lounge to objects moving around on their own in the restaurant.
While he may not be the only ghost that resides at this restaurant, it’s believed that Mr. Jourdan and friends are harmless, playful spirits.
