I’ve only lived outside of New Orleans for about five years of my life–and boy did I miss my hometown! I felt like I finally understood what people meant when they sang the song, Do you know what it means to miss New Orleans? Here’s my top 9 things.
There's nowhere else in the world where there's such a big concentration of amazing people to be with and interact with. When you go other places, it's just not the same.
The food scene continues to explode post-Katrina with so many innovative new restaurants popping up alongside the historic favorites. The hardest part is deciding where to go.

Other places just don't have the value of preservation the way we do in New Orleans, and that makes for a lot of unattractive, boring neighborhoods. That's why you have to come back to New Orleans to visit and soak up the scenery.

Some may really disagree with this, because of course traffic and parking can be bad in NOLA. But once you visit some other cities, you come to see how good we really have it. Most of the time, you can get where you need to go within 20-30 minutes--in a lot of cities that is unheard of!
