The weather has been simply beautiful for the past few weeks, so it’s the perfect time to get outside and explore. Just outside of this city lies a magnificent natural oasis with tons of trails to explore, and you’re going to love it. Let’s check it out.
Located in Marrero, Barataria Preserve is one of six sites that compromise the Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve.
Wildlife enthusiasts will especially love getting the opportunity to get up close and personal with gators, snakes, and over 200 species of birds that are found in the preserve.
At the end of the Marsh Overlook trail, you’re in for a real treat. On a clear day, you’ll be able to see for miles. An endless sea of green that is simply breathtaking, and worth the extra effort to get there.
