With over 120 festivals a year, it’s safe to assume that New Orleans is the festival capital of Louisiana. From now until the end of fall, there’s practically a festival kicking off every weekend. With so many festivals, it can be easy to lose track of what’s going on when, but don’t worry— we’ve got you covered. Here are 5 little known food festivals in New Orleans to add to your calendar.
Heading into its 45th year, Greek Fest is a celebration of all things Greek. You’ll eat delicious Greek food, wine, and pastries, while enjoying music from a Greek band accompanied by traditional Greek dancing. The festival takes place May 25-27th at 1200 Robert E. Lee Boulevard and admission is $8. If you’re looking to save some money, anyone who comes to the festival on Sunday the 27th wearing a tasteful toga gets in free. Opa!
Celebrating their 32nd year, the festival features two live music stages, a cooking demo stage, tons of kid’s activities, and even a Bloody Mary Market. The food booths will be showcasing the creole tomato with dishes like fried green tomatoes, creole tomato crawfish pies, creole tomato shrimp salad, and many more. The festival takes place June 9-10 at 1008 N. Peters Street, New Orleans, LA 70116.

Beignet Fest takes over the Festival Grounds at City Park on October 6th this year, and you don’t want to miss it. Gearing up for their 3rd year, this relatively new festival will certainly feature the traditional sweet, powdered sugary treat as well as many savory options. Beignet Fest will feature more than 20 different beignet dishes from some of the city’s best restaurants, so be sure to come hungry!

2017 was the first year for this festival, and they did so well they’ll be coming back for more. The festival takes place on October 20th and you can eat all the mac & cheese your heart desires. The best restaurants in the city all come out to feature their take on this classic dish. From fried mac & cheese bites to mac & grilled cheese sandwich, you’re bound to see some interesting combinations. October 20th at Louis Armstrong Park.
A triple threat indeed! This fun festival was the brainchild of none other than Emeril Lagasse, and this one-day festival is held in Champions Square by the Superdome. Chefs from all over the country come to put their unique spin on this cajun classic, boudin sausage. There will be live entertainment, cigar tastings, and of course, beer and bourbon. The festival takes place this year on November 9th.
