One of the perks of living in the Crescent City is the many lakeview restaurants peppered around both the lake and the river. There’s one restaurant that’s just a short trip across the Causeway and it features some of the best sunset views near New Orleans, and it’s worth the extra effort to get there.
You’ll find The Lakehouse just 30 minutes across the Causeway tucked away in Old Mandeville.
Housed in the historic Bechac House that dates back to the 1830’s, this two-story restaurant sits right on the shores of Lake Pontchartrain, offering some truly mesmerizing views.
Whether you choose to dine indoors or outside on their patio, you'll be welcomed with open arms at this contemporary yet charming space.
If you can, sit on their upstairs balcony. You'll have a crystal clear view of the lake, and the sunsets here are the perfect accompaniment to your meal.
The buffet menu is constantly rotating new dishes, but the $33 price includes bottomless mimosas for adults, so bring your friends and make a day of it.
The Lakehouse also makes the perfect venue for your next event.
Be sure to follow them on Facebook and check out their website for more information.
