Everyone has their favorite po’boy shop they frequent, but sometimes it can be good to mix it up a bit and try something new. It may seem a little odd to leave New Orleans to get a po’boy, but we promise you, the drive is worth it. Not only does this little restaurant in Slidell have incredible po’boys, but you’ll absolutely love the atmosphere. Let’s check it out.

The building dates back to 1902, and was originally home to the Marguerite McDaniels Millinery Store.

When K.Y.’s opened up in 1992, they decided to keep the bicycle atmosphere. When you walk in, you’ll see all sorts of nostalgic bicycles hanging from the ceiling.

All your favorite Louisiana classics are on the menu, plus several burgers and sandwiches.

Be sure to come hungry, because these po’boys are huge.

You’ll find all your usual suspects like fried oysters, fried shrimp, and roast beef po’boys, but also a few K.Y. specialties like meatball, grilled chicken, and a delicious burger po’boy to munch on.
