This Iconic Restaurant Is So Perfectly New Orleans
There are dozens of restaurants in New Orleans that have stood the test of time and become local favorites. This particular restaurant is no exception, having served mid-city residents for over 30 years. Let’s take a closer look at one of the city’s most beloved restaurants.

Founded by Leo Leininger, the name of the restaurant was the idea of his daughter, Cathy, who decided to name the restaurant after her grandmother.

Unfortunately, Hurricane Katrina devastated the restaurant in 2005. Through hard word and that New Orleans determination, they rebuilt and Katie’s opened its doors again in 2010.

But make sure you add on the debris gravy, trust us.

Particularly the roast beef. Bring a bunch of friends and order "The Barge": an entire genius French loaf over stuffed with fried shrimp, catfish, and oysters. This beast of a sandwich feeds 2-4 people, so make sure you come hungry!
You can find Katie’s Restaurant at 3701 Iberville St, New Orleans, Louisiana 70119
