There are dozens of restaurants in New Orleans that have stood the test of time and become local favorites. This particular restaurant is no exception, having served mid-city residents for over 30 years. Let’s take a closer look at one of the city’s most beloved restaurants.
Founded by Leo Leininger, the name of the restaurant was the idea of his daughter, Cathy, who decided to name the restaurant after her grandmother.
Unfortunately, Hurricane Katrina devastated the restaurant in 2005. Through hard word and that New Orleans determination, they rebuilt and Katie’s opened its doors again in 2010.
