Known as the most haunted plantation in the country, a visit to the Myrtles will leave you speechless. Tucked amidst a canopy of ancient oaks, this beautiful antebellum home was built in 1796 and tours are offered daily to learn about the history of the home and the families that lived there. Named for the honeybees that were once spotted on a nearby island, Honey Island Swamp is one of the least-altered river swamps in the country, and many believe it to be the most pristine swamplands in the United States. The best way to get a glimpse of this beautiful wetland is by boat, and there are numerous tour companies that would love to give you a tour. The swamp is also known for being the home of the legendary Honey Island Swamp Monster, a terrifying creature towering seven feet tall with grey hair and piercing yellow eyes. Are you a believer?

For a truly unique experience, head over to Global Wildlife Center. Home to over 4,000 exotic and endangered animals from all over the world, the Global Wildlife Center is the largest free-roaming wildlife preserve in the country! You’ll ride in a covered wagon and come face-to-face with some of the most exotic animals around, including giraffes, zebras, kangaroos, and countless others.
Located on Bayou Petit Caillou, the Chauvin Sculpture Garden is a mesmerizing and emotional world-class art exhibit that must be seen to be believed.
