There’s nothing better than a hearty grilled cheese. It’s nostalgic, simple, and a comforting sandwich that just somehow seems to make everything better. There’s a restaurant in Kenner that’s taking what you know about the grilled cheese and turning it on its side. If you’re a grilled cheese lover, you need to visit the Big Cheezy, where they’re serving the most incredible grilled cheese sandwiches you’ve ever tasted. Let’s check it out.
The Big Cheesy was New Orleans’ first gourmet grilled cheese restaurant, and it didn't take long to win over the hearts and stomachs of New Orleanians.
Since their first location on Magazine Street, they’ve expanded to three other locations across southern Louisiana and also added a food truck to the mix. The Magazine Street location closed down earlier this year, but don't worry, you don't have to travel far to get your cheese fix.
Sure, their original grilled cheese with Cheddar and American is a timeless classic, but what about adding some roast beef and debris gravy? It’s a match made in heaven.
Everyone loves macaroni and cheese, and it only gets better when you turn it into a grilled cheese, which is exactly what the folks at The Big Cheesy have done. Their four cheese bacon macaroni and cheese with cheddar between two slices of country white bread will make you wish you had thought of this as a kid.
On top of all of their delicious sandwiches, they also have several soups, sides, and skillet macs. Of course, everything on the menu is either filled with cheese or makes a great accompaniment to cheese, like a cup of tomato basil soup or buffalo chicken cheese fries.
