The largest beer fest in the region is back for its eighth year, and you won’t want to miss it. There will be 400+ local, national, and home-brewed beer to drink, contests, food, and games. This festival is dog-friendly, so bring your four legged friend along for the fun! The festival takes place on September 22 from 12pm-7pm at the Festival Grounds at City Park.
3. Oktoberfest
For three weekends in October, you can experience the most delicious German food and beer around. There will be live music and dance performances, contests, and all the German food you could eat. The festival takes place October 5-6, 12-13, and 19-20 over at 1700 Moss Street.
4. Scout Island Scream Park
Ready for Halloween? Well then you better mark your calendar to visit Scream Park. Each weekend in October, City Park is transformed into a spooky space filled with ghosts and goblins. Don’t worry, if you have youngsters that are too young for the full experience, swing by early (4pm-8pm) for scare-free zones. From hayrides to a pumpkin patch, this is a great family-friendly attraction.
5. Treme Fall
Produced by the Historic Fauboug Treme Association, this neighborhood festival celebrates the unique culture of one of the oldest neighborhoods in New Orleans. Local food vendors will be selling their delicious cuisine, the art market will have dozens of talented local artists, and you can count on some of the best musicians in the city to come out and dazzle you with their tunes. The festival takes place October 5-6 at St. Augustines Church.
6. Beignet Festival
The Beignet Festival will be taking over the Festival Grounds at City Park for its third year, celebrating this local sweet treat. From the traditional to savory, this delicious festival will have more than 30 different beignet dishes from some of the best restaurants in the city. The festival takes place on October 6 from 10am-6pm at the Festival Grounds at City Park.
7. Celebracion Latina
Celebration National Hispanic Month, this free festival offers a true taste of Latin American culture featuring live music, kids activities, and of course, mouth-watering Latin cuisine from local restaurants. The festival takes place on October 7 from 10am-5pm.
8. Crescent City Blues & BBQ Festival
This free festival is a must-see for any local New Orleanian. The 13th annual Crescent City Blues & BBQ Festival features some of the best blues musicians in the country and it’s pair up with delicious, finger-licking good BBQ. What more could you ask for? The festival takes place October 12-14 at Lafayette Square Park.
9. Gentilly Fest
Head over to Pontchartrain Park Playground for this fun, free family-friendly festival. Celebrating all things New Orleans, you can expect amazing music, local restaurants, fine arts and crafts, and tons of kids activities including pony rides, and kids stage, face painting, and more. The festival takes place October 12-14 at Pontchartrain Park Playground.
