Have you heard of free days at certain New Orleans museums? Because of the Helis Foundation, certain museums in the city are free to Louisiana residents. And there is a special program going on for New Orleans residents this August. There’s a whole list of museums that are offering a membership exchange throughout the month!

The CAC, or the Contemporary Arts Center, is known for their unique modern art that features artists from New Orleans and around the country. The CAC is open for Louisiana residents for free on Sundays.

NOMA is also free for the residents on Wednesdays as well. It's a wonderful museum with a diverse array of art from many time periods and around the world. And right next door you can go ahead and explore the Besthoff Sculpture Garden, which is always open for free.

The Ogden museum is found right across the street from the CAC and is full of incredible art from across the south. You are going to love exploring here, and it is free every Thursday for LA residents.

Finally, this beautiful museum is an amazing place for kids to explore. Every other month, the Helis Foundation sponsors a free day here that is always a lot of fun for the locals.
