It’s the time again—time to enjoy an amazing day with friends enjoying and celebrating the joys of summer and our country’s history. If you’ve been asking yourself, how do I find fireworks near me, this is the article for you. Just like in our 2015 and 2016 lists, we’re bringing you all the updates for the amazing celebrations this year.
Uncle Sam Jam takes place every year at Lafreniere Park, 3000 Downs Blvd. in Metairie. This place kicks off at 4:30 and goes until 11pm. There’s a whole line up of bands offered at the jam, including Mixed Nuts and the New Orleans Concert Band. And of course, the whole celebration ends with an awesome fireworks display.
This yearly fireworks display offers some of the biggest displays you will find anywhere, and it all starts at the Mississippi River at 9pm. You can watch the "dueling barges" display while standing in Woldenberg Park or at Jax Brewery. And over the past few years, Crescent Park has even been opening up the area for fireworks watchers.
Also on July 1st, you’ll enjoy the Mandeville festival on the lakefront between Coffee & Carroll streets. It all kicks off at 4:30 pm and the fireworks are put on at dusk. The day also includes a military tribute that you will want to bring your Kleenex for!
When you are looking forward to getting your patriotism in early, consider visiting the July 3rd celebration in City Park of New Orleans. It’s a beautiful day on the Woldenberg Great Lawn, all starting at 7pm, which includes an amazing performance of the Marine Corps band. Everyone who attends is encouraged to wear red, white, and blue to celebrate the day.
On Saturday July 1st, you’ll want to gather all of your friends and head over to 1701 Bayou Lane, where the annual Slidell independence day festival kicks off. It all gets started around 4:30pm. Awesome food, great music, and of course a killer fireworks display makes this day truly special for everyone who attends.
