New Orleans knows how to throw a festival better than any other city, no doubt about it. With over 400 festivals every year, we’ll throw a festival for pretty much anything. We’re getting to that time of year where you can expect a festival just about every weekend from now until spring. Below, we’ve got the seven most fantastic festivals happening in the next few weeks that will show you the best of New Orleans, so be sure to mark your calendars!
The original Caribbean Carnival of New Orleans returns for another year of celebration on November 3, 2018 over at Crescent Park. There will be a parade at noon outside of Harrah’s Casino, a costume competition, and lots of dancing. You don’t want to miss this unique celebration!
Celebrating its 21st year, the Bucktown Seafood Festival kicks off Friday November 2 and runs until Sunday November 4. The weekend is jam packed with live music, local food vendors, and of course, tons of delicious seafood. There will be rides and games for kids, raffle prizes, a parade, and so much more. 1600 Lake Ave, Metairie, Louisiana 70005.

On Saturday, November 3rd, be sure to carve out some time to head over to the Algiers Folk Art Festival for a delightful afternoon. Returning for their 7th year, the festival showcases regional folk art and features some of the most talented artists from around the area. Live entertainment and food-trucks are a guarantee, and you’re sure to have a blast at this amazing fest. The festival takes place at 207 Lebeouf St., New Orleans, LA 70114.

For an absolute perfect afternoon, make sure you head over to Champion Square on November 9th for the Boudin, Bourbon, and Beer Festival. Featuring dishes from over 70 chefs, live music from the most talented local musicians, and all the bourbon and beer you can drink, this is one festival you won’t want to miss.
Returning for its 12th year, the Oak Street Po’boy Festival is one of the most delicious festivals in the city. On November 11th from 10am-6pm, feast on mouthwatering po’boys from all your favorite restaurants around the city while jamming out to live music across three stages on iconic Oak Street.
One of the newest festivals in the Big Easy throws down on November 17th and it’s a cheese lover’s paradise. From 11am-5pm at the New Orleans Jazz Museum, more than 100 artisan cheeses from all over the world will be available plus live music. Come sample cheeses, sip on a glass of wine, and watch a cheese wheel cracking competition for a fun-filled day.
November is good gumbo weather, so it makes since to pay a visit to the Treme Creole Gumbo Festival this year. The festival takes place November 17-18 from 11am-7:30pm over at Armstrong Park, and admission is free. Enjoying some delicious gumbo while listening to some toe-tapping brass bands sounds like the perfect day, right?
