Grab your canine best friend and head for the door. You’ve just found your favorite new weekend spot. Nola City Bark is a 4.6-acre slice of land located in City Park in New Orleans, and it’s all dedicated to dogs.
This is no ordinary dog park. The extensive, beautifully designed property offers spaces for dogs (and humans) of all types to relax and enjoy the natural surroundings.
According to the Nola City Bark, their mission is to “to develop a safe and sustainable area in City Park for off-leash, owner-supervised, socialization of our canine companions in order to provide personal and community enrichment, recreation, educational activities, and to promote the health and well-being of the citizens and canines of metropolitan New Orleans.”
And they do just that! Dogs can play in areas specifically designed for big or small dogs. They can also enjoy any of several water play areas perfect for cooling down on a hot day.
The social calendar at Nola City Bark is packed. These puppers are all dolled up for the annual Bow Wow Luau, a fundraising event that raises money to maintain the park.
