We are so close to the cooler months that fall brings, and that’s the perfect time to get outside and explore some of the amazing parks that are all around us. All of these parks are within an hour drive, so you can go out to one of these beautiful parks and still be back in time before dinner.
The largest park in Metairie, Lafreniere Park offers something for everyone. Featuring several play areas for kids, athletic fields, a 24-hold disc golf course, a beautiful lagoon, and so much more, you’ll have a delightful afternoon as this amazing park. 3000 Downs Blvd, Metairie, Louisiana 70003.
This 130-acre park is perfect for anyone looking to immerse themselves in nature for a few hours. Tiny but mighty, this charming little state park clocks in at 99 acres and is the perfect little park for an afternoon outing. Set along the banks of the Tchefuncte River, you can stroll along the trail for some delightful views. The Otis House Museum is located within the park, and is truly worth a tour. For a truly relaxing afternoon, spend some time over at Bogue Falaya Park in Covington. The peaceful little park includes a playground for the kids, tons of green space to sprawl out on, and lovely views of the Bogue Falaya River.
