Sometimes you come across a place that’s so special and unique, you just need to tell the world about it. That’s certainly the case with this gem of a restaurant that’s churning out some of the most mouthwatering Mexican cuisine in the city. Let’s check it out.
Casa Borrega is the brainchild of Hugo Montero and his wife, Linda Stone who decided that they wanted to share Mexican culture with New Orleans.
The 1891 Greek Revival home was in disrepair when they purchased it in 2008. After an extensive renovation using as many salvaged pieces and recycled materials as possible, they opened their doors in 2013.

The vibrant colors and the beautiful decorations reflect Montero’s artistic eye and Linda’s knack for upcycling.
