Just a short drive to Marrero and you’ll be surrounded by 23,000 acres including bayous, swamps, marshes, and forests, not to mention tons of wildlife. The boardwalk trails will lead you through the parts of the swamp that you just wouldn’t be able to get to otherwise. 3. Jackson Square
This historic little park in the French Quarter was built in 1721, and it’s the perfect place for a leisurely stroll. There are numerous restaurants and shops around the square so you can spend the day shopping and enjoying delicious Cajun and Creole meals in a beautiful setting.
4. Audubon Park
Nestled in historic uptown New Orleans, Audubon Park has been a favorite spot for locals for picnics, recreation, or just a lazy day in the park enjoying a beautiful day. There’s several attractions for the kids, like Storyland, putt putt golf, and an amusement park and there’s also attractions for adults, like the botanical gardens and the sculpture garden. 7. Longue Vue House and Gardens
