You’ll feel like you’re miles and miles away from it all in this serene setting.

The trail will take you alongside sycamores, cypress, black willow, elm trees, and so many others. At the northern end of the trail, you’ll come to a rain-fed wetland that’s called the "black swamp" and featured 200-year-old tupelo trees.

And you could very easily be the only one on the trail, which is sometimes quite nice.

The Botanic Gardens are free to enter and you can find them at 4560 Essen Ln., Baton Rouge, LA 70809.
