When you’re looking for a campground with a sandy beach to relax on, there are a few within driving distance of New Orleans. For a short day trip, you could always head over to Fontainebleau State Park, located just across the Causeway. Then, there’s always Grand Isle State Park, if you’re looking for some world-class fishing and outdoor opportunity. This particular campground is about two and a half hour drive from the city, making it the perfect destination for a quick weekend getaway, and the sandy beach makes it all worth it.
Clocking in at 185-acres, Cypremort Point State Park may not be the biggest state park in Louisiana, but it sure is one of the most beautiful.
Nestled along the shores of Vermilion Bay in St. Mary Parish, Cypremort Point State Park is just the ticket for when you need a relaxing weekend getaway and some peace and quiet.
For fisherman, you can't get any better than Cypremort Point State Park. Drop your line off the 100-foot pier or take your boat out on the Bay for a day on the water.
The park features a half-mild stretch of man made beach that's perfect on a sunny day. Sit back and sink your toes in the sand and watch the sailboats pass by while you catch up on that book you've been meaning to finish. Sounds like paradise, right?
As the sun sets behind the horizon, the sky turns to incredible color bursts of magentas and oranges that bounce off the Bay for a truly mesmerizing sight.
