Come For The Po'Boys, Stay For The Fried Potato Salad At This Iconic New Orleans Restaurant
There’s certainly no shortage of good po’boy joints in New Orleans. There’s probably about as many po’boy restaurants as there are oak trees, and that’s quite alright. While this particular restaurant may be known for their mouthwateringly good po’boys, there’s one hidden gem on the menu that’s an absolute must-try. Let’s take a closer look.

Justin and Christy Pitard opened the restaurant four years ago, fulfilling Christy’s long-time dream of owning a restaurant. Named after their daughter, Avery’s on Tulane is a perfectly casual spot to pop in and have one of the best meals of your life.

Pictured above is their Peal River po’boy: fried oysters with roast beef, gravy and topped with chopped bacon. Yum!

This unique spin on a classic side dish starts with their house made potato salad that’s encrusted in season Leidenheimer bread crumbs and fried until a crispy golden brown and then drizzled with a horseradish cream to give it a little kick. Wowza!

From red beans and rice Mondays to catfish Fridays, you’ll find yourself coming back here again and again to try everything on the menu.
You can find Avery’s on Tulane at 2510 Tulane Ave., New Orleans, LA 70119.
