As local travel experts, we know what travelers are looking for when it comes to finding the perfect accommodations for their next trip. To compile our lists, we scour the internet to find properties with excellent ratings and reviews, desirable amenities, nearby attractions, and that something special that makes a destination worthy of traveling for.
Looking for a change of scenery for a day or two? Every now and then, we all need a break from city life, and lucky for us, there’s a charming little bed and breakfast just a short drive away that’s perfect for a quiet weekend escape.
Welcome to Annadele’s, a historic little hideaway tucked away in Covington.
The property has an interesting history, beginning back in 1819 when they were looking for a place to put the St. Tammany Courthouse and jail for the town of Claiborne. Not familiar with the town of Claiborne? Well, sadly the town didn’t flourish as anticipated and eventually, the courthouse was abandoned. A new town, Wharton (now Covington) became the parish seat, and the land was divided up and sold off.
Colonel Thomas Sully purchased 24 acres and went to work building what would become Annadele’s.
Built in 1834, the West Indian plantation-style home originally was a one-story home with four bedrooms and a kitchen. It has changed ownership a few times over the years, with each owner making additions and renovations.

Today, Annadele’s operates as a charming bed and breakfast and restaurant.
The beautiful grounds and the spacious dining rooms make Annadele’s a perfect spot for any number of celebratory occasions including weddings, reunions, baby showers, and more.
Even if you’re not planning on staying the night, Annadele’s Restaurant is worth the drive from the city. But once you get a look at the suites, you’ll want to book a stay ASAP.
All of the suites differ slightly in amenities and decor, but each one has its own private bathroom and at least a queen-sized bed, so you'll have plenty of space.
All of the suites include a compact fridge, coffee maker, cable, and internet.
So just in case you can’t completely unplug, WIFI will be there for you. (Welcome to your home away from home!)
