From Barataria Preserve to Fontainebleau State Park, there are several options for anyone looking to surround themselves in nature for a few hours. Just down the street from Fontainebleau State Park lies an incredible hidden gem, and it’s worthy of the drive from New Orleans. The Northlake Nature Center is a perfect spot to stroll through the boardwalk trails and just take in all the lovely swamp and marsh views.
