You Must Taste Blue Crab Beignets At This Unique Restaurant In Louisiana
When it comes to Louisiana desserts, the beignet reigns supreme (at least until King Cake season rolls around). Dusted with powdered sugar and served fresh out of the fryer, these delicate puffs of perfection are always a tasty treat. There’s one restaurant in Louisiana that took this iconic sweet and made a savory spin to it, and you need to try it.

Like so many restaurants in Louisiana, this one comes with a unique history.

In the late 1800s, the space was a grocery store names Central Tea, Coffee, and Butter Depot selling exactly what you would think: exotic teas from around the globe as well as coffee and butter. The store was very successful until a fire in 1908 completely devastated the building (and about two square miles around it). Like so many Louisianians faced with a crushing blow like this, they decided to rebuild from scratch.

The new store was a full-service grocery store complete with a barn to house horses and delivery carriages. No other store during that time offered what this one did, and it’s one of the main reasons it continued for a successful run for many, many years

From the moment you step inside, you'll feel the history of the space. It's as warm and welcoming as you'd think!

They also have one of the best burgers in town, the LPG Burger.

Take what you think you know about beignets and throw it out the window.

The dish is served with malt vinegar aioli and lemon. You'll find it hard to share these bad boys.
