The LSU AgCenter Botanic Gardens are part of the Burden Museum & Gardens, which also consists of the Windrush Gardens and the Rural Life Museum.

Their stipulation upon donation was that the land and property be used for horticultural, agronomic, and environmental research, and to further develop the Rural Life Museum. They wanted to create a space for the community to enjoy - and that’s just what they did.
