You may have known that forestry is one of the top industries here in Louisiana, but you may be surprised to learn that there’s an incredible annual event to celebrate that fact: the Louisiana Forest Festival. In addition to timber-related activities such as ax-throwing and sawing competitions, visitors can also look forward to the impressive Jurassic Kingdom, leggo challenges, live music, food trucks, a miniature train ride, and much more. Also, there will be an American Veteran Traveling Tribute Wall on display, too! Looking for an exciting event that the whole family can enjoy? Head to Winnfield, Louisiana, where the Louisiana Forest Festival takes place each year.

In Winn Parish, forestry is the number one industry, accounting for over 50,000 jobs in the state.

Each year, the Louisiana Forest Festival marks the occasion where residents and visitors can celebrate all things forestry. The festival reorganized in 1979 as a salute to the industry and the many ways it has provided for the state.

This year, some of the timber-related activities include professional lumberjack sports, forestry equipment displays, competitions, and more.

And that's just the beginning! In true Louisiana fashion, there will be a lineup of live musical performances and other festivities to keep everyone entertained.

Little ones will love the opportunity to experience the Jurassic Kingdom, an interactive dinosaur exhibit that will make you feel like you've traveled to prehistoric times.

There will also be friendly leggo competitions held on Saturday for kids who love to create and build.

Afterward, you and the family can catch a ride on the family train for a tour of the event grounds and exhibitions.

So many activities are bound to work up an appetite, and fortunately, there will be plenty of food trucks to visit. You can also purchase some handmade crafts as the perfect souvenir from the weekend.
