If spending some time alone in the woods is what you’re looking for, then you should check out the Indian Creek Recreation Area. Located just outside of Woodworth in the Alexander State Forest, there are plenty of recreational opportunities here, including a lovely little hiking trail. This forest trail in Louisiana is perfect for all age groups and abilities, and you can even bring along your fur baby for an extra special outing with your best friend.
The loop trail is about 3.5 miles long and will take you all around the recreation area. Most of the trail runs along the Indian Creek Reservoir.
The 2,250-acre reservoir is a great spot for fishing, boating, swimming, and all sorts of fun water activities. Keep this in mind for the summer season!
Between the Alexander State Forest and the Kisatchie National Forest, this part of the state is full of primitive trails that weave through remote areas. This particular forest trail in Louisiana is one of our favorites since it's relatively short, easy, and very scenic.
