Every once in a while, you find a hiking trail that offers views so spectacular that it doesn’t even look real. Lake Martin is one of those places. You can drive around the lake, jump in a kayak and explore by boat, or take the 5-mile out-and-back trail to see one of the most scenic spots in Louisiana.
Part of the Cypress Island Preserve, Lake Martin is almost 800 acres of natural Louisiana landscape.
You can also drive along Rookery Road for spectacular views if you don’t want to set out on foot.
