Travioso recently released a list of the best burger spots in the nation, and two of our very own made the list. We’re not surprised, were you? Judice Inn has been a Lafayette landmark for 70 years, serving up some of the best burgers in Cajun Country. But if you’re closer to New Orleans, you’ll want to pay a visit to La Petite Grocery, a charming eatery in the Big Easy with a fascinating history and a downright delicious burger. Let’s check it out:
You’ll find La Petite Grocery tucked away on historic Magazine Street in New Orleans.
In the late 1800s, the charming little Creole-style cottage was home to the Central Tea, Coffee & Butter Depot until a fire broke out in 1908 that destroyed the original building. Like New Orleanians are wont to do, the owners rebuilt and came back better than ever, expanding to a full-service grocery store with a barn for house delivers via carriages. With the new building, a new name came, and "Frank W. Mackie Grocer" became a neighborhood favorite for 35 years.

Since 2004, La Petite Grocery has been a favorite for locals on the hunt for a deliciously fabulous meal.
This beauty of a burger is topped with house-made pickles, onion marmalade, arugula, whole grain mustard, aioli & gruyère all on a brioche bun with hand-cut fries. Yum!
While you're at La Petite Grocery, you'll want to indulge in one of the other iconic dishes too: blue crab beignets.
These are a great option for the table to share, but they're so good, you may not want to!
The menu at La Petite Grocery covers a wide range of flavors. Be sure to check out its website to see all of its incredible creations, and don’t forget to give it a follow on Facebook so you never miss out on the latest specialties.
