Established in 1714, Natchitoches is the oldest settlement in the state and is full of historic spots to explore. During the holidays, the town transforms into a real-life winter wonderland, attracting visitors from all over the world, but this charming town is beautiful year-round, and worth a road trip from any corner of the state. Front Street, in particular, is a perfect spot to spend an afternoon popping in and out of all the local stores, and there’s one store that’s full of so many treasures, you might just need an entire day to explore it all.
