Louisiana is known for swamps and bayous, but remember the bottom of the boot is right along the Gulf of Mexico, with some of the most perfect hidden beaches. There’s one beach, in particular, that’s practically perfect in every way, and if you’re in the right spot at the right time, you might even find some incredible seashells.
While you’re in the area, you may be interested in checking out the Creole Nature Trail, a 180-mile All-American Road that takes you to some of the most scenic landscapes in the state, including a few other beaches.
