The nature trail is only 0.25 miles long, so bring the kids! They’ll love it. There’s also a playground for the little ones to enjoy and picnic tables scattered throughout, in case you decide to pack a lunch.
The main attraction to the park is the Otis House, which you’ll see right when you enter the park.

Originally built in the 1880s, this house has a fascinating history that you can learn all about on one of the tours offered here.
The Otis House was initially the family home of William Theodore Jay, through it was bought and renovated in the 1930s by Frank Otis.

Otis lived in the home until his death in 1962 and left the property to the State of Louisiana so it could be used as a recreational site for others to enjoy. In 1999, the house was placed on the National Register of Historic Places.
