In any case, these destinations are places that just about every Louisianian has visited at least once in their lives… and keep coming back to time and time again.
Perhaps one of the most iconic Louisiana pictures, Oak Alley was built in 1837 and is one of the most visited plantations in Louisiana. Come stroll through the famous canopy of live oak trees and learn all about this history of this beautiful plantation.
Famous for Tabasco, this well-known salt dome is located in Iberia Parish and is easily one of the most beautiful places in Louisiana. Not only can you take a tour of the Tabasco company, you can also wander around the grounds and view the Jungle Gardens and Bird City - one of the largest bird rookeries around.

Louisiana’s only inhabited barrier island is a fisherman’s paradise and a birdwatcher’s haven. The Grand Isle State Park has some lovely trails to wander through, and they also allow you to camp right on the beach! Bring your tent and fall asleep to the sounds of the waves crashing as you gaze up at the stars.
