Crab cakes are better known in the Chesapeake Bay region, even though Louisiana takes gold for just about every other seafood dish imaginable. While we may prefer our crabs boiled and served on a platter, there’s something to be said for biting into a perfectly seasoned, crispy crab cake. When the urge to splurge on this breaded delicacy strikes, there’s one stylish little eatery that’s serving up some of the best crab cakes in Louisiana. Bon appétit!
Locally owned and operated, Eliza has been a neighborhood favorite for those in the Greater Baton Rouge area since opening in 2016.
Named after the owner’s daughter, Eliza Restaurant & Bar, the stylish and sleek eatery has a very welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere - which may be why so many locals love this spot!
There's nothing worse than digging into some crab cakes only to discover that you've ordered 90% cornmeal and 10% crab. That's not the case here!
These perfectly seared crab cakes are stuffed with jumbo lump crabmeat and served with grilled corn maque choux, a tangy ravigote sauce, and paired with hand-cut fries.
You'll find yourself wanting to lick the plate - they're that good!
Check out their website for a full menu and hours of operation, and don’t forget to give them a follow on Facebook so you never miss out on any of their specialty creations. Have you ever had the crab cakes from Eliza? Let us know in the comments below!
