Even though Louisiana isn’t known for having the incredible display of fall foliage that takes over this time of year, we do have a few pockets here and there where you can see the colors changing. This particular park in northern Louisiana is one of the most beautiful hidden gems in the state, and it’s worth your while to take the road trip to visit this beautiful nature park.
You’ll find the Walter B. Jacobs Memorial Nature Park over in Caddo Parish.
One of the most delightful hidden gems in the state, this Shreveport park is great for both families looking to expose their kids to nature and also adults just looking to immerse themselves in nature for an afternoon.
The part features hands-on exhibits, a children’s play area, and tons of live animals including a birds of prey aviary and a deer enclosure. It’s the perfect spot for a family adventure.
If you time it right, you’ll see some spectacular colors on your walk through the pine-oak-hickory forest. Try to go in the first couple of weeks in November for peak fall foliage.
You can find the Walter B. Jacobs Memorial Nature Park at 8012 Blanchard Furrh Rd., Shreveport, LA 71107. For more information, check out the Caddo Parish website here and the Walter B. Jacobs Memorial Nature Park Facebook page here.
