Here in Louisiana, we tend to have our own versions of seasons. No one likes hurricane season, but after we make it through, we get to enjoy gumbo season. Of course, gumbo season leads to crawfish season, which overlaps with king cake season, and then we head into sno-ball season, which always overlaps with hurricane season. It’s the Louisiana circle of life.

However, there’s one season that tends to be overlooked… and that’s pecan season! Pecan season occurs from about mid-October all the way into December, and that’s when we get to indulge in delicious pecans with our side of gumbo. This pecan season, take a road trip over to Thib’s Pecan Cottage, a humble little country store home to all of the best pecan products in Louisiana… including some of the best fudge you’ll ever taste.
