Who doesn’t love a festival? Louisiana has hundreds of festivals. It’s one of the things we do best. They’re a great way to support local vendors, experience live music, get outside, and have some fun. One of Louisiana’s largest festivals is the Contraband Days Festival, which takes place on the first two weekends in May. More than 100,000 people attend the oldest festival in Lake Charles, and we can see why!

In honor of the 60th anniversary, Jean Lafitte and his pirates will come ashore to kidnap the mayor, put him on trial, and then he'll walk the plank!

Flyboarding is a newer water sport that's gaining popularity. The board is connected to the jet ski by a 50 foot hose and uses propulsion to blast the water through the hose to propel you up in the air. The instructor on the jet ski has total control of how high you go, so you won't just blast off into the sky 🙂
