Ready for an all-day adventure? The Bogue Falaya River is a scenic, lazy little river that runs through St. Tammany Parish, and it’s great for paddling. Canoe & Trail Adventures offers several different types of rentals for you to experience the river, and they conveniently launch right behind one of the most delicious restaurants in Covington, The Chimes. Combine the two and you’ll have one amazing day! Let’s check it out:
The Chimes is one of those timeless, family-friendly restaurants with a menu that caters to just about everyone.
The original location in Baton Rouge opened over 25 years ago and the business has expanded to include a second location in Baton Rouge and now a third in Covington.
The Covington location has a beautifully rustic deck overlooking the Bogue Falaya River.
Just remember to keep an eye on the time, because you'll need to return to the launch site before your rental time is up. Luckily, the river doesn't have much of a current, so you'll be able to paddle either direction easily.

After your paddling excursion, head back into The Chimes to treat yourself to a nice cold beverage.
The Chimes has one of the most extensive beer selections in the state, with hundreds of beers from all over the world!
