You don’t have to go far to experience Louisiana’s natural landscape. Tucked away in the central part of the state is an enchanting emerald nature trail that will quickly become your go-to hike for those days when you just need to get away from it all. Gas up the car, because today we’re headed to Chicot State Park, one of the most beautiful state parks in Louisiana that has one of the most incredible boardwalk trails you’ll ever hike. Let’s check it out.
With 6,400 acres of rolling hills to explore, it’s no surprise that Chicot State Park is one of the most popular parks to explore.
You'll have some beautiful views of the lake and surrounding wetlands. It's a great spot for viewing wildlife including gators, turtles, nutria, and all your usual swamp critters.
It's a great trail the whole family can enjoy, and even if you can't finish the hike in one day, there are primitive camping sites so you can pitch a tent and spend a night sleeping under the stars.
