Not all po’boys are created equal, and all it takes is one sub-par po’boy to realize this. Just when you think you’ve seen everything, this one incredible little eatery comes along and blows open the doors to culinary possibilities. This Lake Charles restaurant is taking the iconic New Orleans po’boy and combining it with traditional Louisiana dishes for a unique spin that’ll make your taste buds explode. Let’s check it out.
Welcome to Buffi’s Peaux Boys, a delightfully charming little eatery located in Lake Charles that you're going to fall in love with.
Established in 2014, this locally owned and operated restaurant is the brainchild of Yvette "Buffi" Kocik, who grew up learning the tricks of the trade in the kitchen before pursuing her passion and opening her own restaurant.
Buffi’s takes the traditional New Orleans po’boy and turns it on its head. From shrimp remoulade po’boys to chicken alfredo po'boys, we guarantee you’ve never had a po’boy like this before.
Their specialty po’boys are truly one-of-a-kind. Everyone knows you judge a po’boy by how many napkins you use, and by this metric, these po’boys are 10/10 napkins good.
Their signature po’boy is their boiled crawfish po’boy, and it’s an absolute must-try when you visit. It’s stuffed to the brim with spicy boiled crawfish, corn, potatoes, and then sprinkled with seafood sauce. This masterpiece combines the best of both worlds for an explosion of flavors.
Buffi’s Peaux Boys is located at 3606 Ryan St, Lake Charles, LA 70605 and is open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., on Friday & Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, visit Buffi’s website and Facebook page.
