There’s no better feeling than cuddling up with a good book. When the temperatures drop and you can put on your favorite sweatshirt, snuggle up with a blanket and a book, and sip on your favorite hot beverage, well, that’s a good day. For bookworms, a visit to the Louisiana Book Festival is an absolute must. Jam-packed with over 200 authors, poets, and scholars, this is one event that you should clear your calendar for.
The Louisiana Book Festival returns to Baton Rouge on November 2, 2019, and you’re not going to want to miss it.
Back for its 16th year, the festival takes over downtown Baton Rouge in the Louisiana State Capitol, State Library of Louisiana, Capitol Park Museum, and nearby streets.
The festival is free to enter and open to the public.
There will be several readings, book talks, interviews, and presentations throughout the day. For the full line up, click here. From bookbinding to true crime, there are hundreds of programs to check out.
There will be a wide array of both at this festival. Food stands will be set up along Spanish Town Road between the State Capital and the State Library. All your favorite cajun cooking will be available for purchase from some of the best local restaurants around.
And there's tons of sprawling green space to kick back on.
