Nestled in beautiful Ville Platte, Chicot State Park is a massive, 6,400-acre state park surrounded by a 2,000-acre man-made lake.

While several outdoor activities attract visitors from all over, looking to explore this amazing park, the extensive hiking and backpacking trail is one of the most popular attractions at Chicot State Park.

The 20-mile hiking trail completely encircles Lake Chicot, offering stunning views along the way and primitive campsites, in case you wanted to make a weekend out of it.
Along the way, you’ll have the opportunity to see tons of wildlife.
