Located on the outskirts of Breaux Bridge, a trip through Cajun Country isn’t complete without stopping off at this beautiful little lake. It’s one of the largest rookies for birds in Louisiana, making it a birdwatcher’s paradise. You’ll have the opportunity to see plenty of other wildlife, too, including alligators and turtles.

Nestled in Ville Platte, Lake Chicot is a nature lover's dream. There's a beautiful trail within Chicot State Park that will take you all around the lake, offering some truly spectacular views along the way.

Those in the Lake Charles area may already know the beauty of Prien Lake, and it's easy to see why it's one of our favorite lakes. Prien Lake Park offers gorgeous views, and ample seating to sit for a spell.

If you want to get away from it all, Valentine Lake is just the ticket. Head on over to the Valentine Lake Recreation Area to take in the splendor of this little hidden gem. There are several trails nearby, making it the perfect spot for an afternoon of adventure.

Bordering Texas and Louisiana, this 25,400-acre lake sure is a stunner. Earl G. Williamson Park in Oil City is a great way to see the lake and spend some time outdoors.

If you want to spend a night or two with a lakefront view, Lake Claiborne State Park is right up your alley. The 6,400-acre man-made lake is great for bass fishing, too.

While you're near Lake Claiborne, it couldn't hurt to stop by Lake D'Arbonne. The 15,250-acre lake is home to excellent fishing, great kayaking, and some of the most sensational sunsets you've ever seen.
