We may still be in Christmas mode, but let’s not forget what the New Year brings: Carnival season! When the color scheme changes from red and green to purple, green, and gold, there’s one special addition to everyone’s kitchen counters in the new year, and that’s the king cake! The Bayou King Cake Festival is a new festival that’s sure to become one of the best festivals in Louisiana. Here’s everything you need to know:
Mark your calendars for January 27, 2024, at 10 a.m. because that’s when the Bayou King Cake Festival kicks off.
Kids from the schools had the opportunity to submit a poster for the festival, and this year Milee Sellers from Thibodaux High School won the contest. You’ll be seeing this poster all over the Thibodaux area as the date gets closer.
Each general admission ticket includes five tastings and one voting doubloon. There will be all sorts of flavors to try including traditional king cakes, filled king cakes, and even a few savory king cakes!
Winners will be announced at 4 p.m.
Live music will take the stage from 11:30 a.m. until 5 p.m.
