Boardwalk trails in particular are a nature lover’s paradise since they allow you access to see parts of Louisiana’s wetlands that you just wouldn’t be able to see any other way. Luckily, the endless maze of boardwalk trails at Barataria Preserve will keep you occupied for hours.

You’ll want to check preserve’s website beforehand, as they frequently do repairs on some of the boardwalk trails, but the preserve is typically open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
