This fabulous nature preserve clocks in at a massive 23,000 acres of pure Louisiana beauty.
Marshes, bayous, swamps, and forests all make up this important nature preserve, and the trails will give you a glimpse at some of Louisiana's most breathtaking natural scenery.
Bring the whole family for one adventure, and then come back and visit for a peaceful and calming afternoon on your own!
You might even spot a swamp critter or two. The area is home to scores of alligators, turtles, snakes, raccoons plus all your feathered friends like egrets, herons, and others.
Just remember to never feed the wildlife, and leave only footprints so that the next generation can appreciate this natural paradise for years to come.
You’ll want to check preserve’s website beforehand, as they frequently do repairs on some of the boardwalk trails, but the preserve is typically open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
