The Terrain On Louisiana's Backbone Trail Looks Like Something From Another Planet
Sometimes all you need is a little change of scenery to recharge yourself. There are hundreds of trails in Louisiana that are ideal for those times when you just need to immerse yourself in Louisiana’s natural beauty, and this one trail, in particular, is so beautiful, it looks like something from another planet.

The forest is home to countless primitive trails that are ideal for nature lovers, and you can camp right along the trail if you’d like to make a weekend out of it.

You can make this a loop trail if you follow the main road, Park Road 830, once you hit the trailhead on either side. This will add a few more miles to your journey, but then you won't be backtracking or have to worry about parking two cars at the trailhead.

Bring lots of water and some bug spray, depending on the time of year you visit.

You won't find pristine boardwalks on this trail, you'll be hiking up and down the rolling hills of the forest.

Pull up a seat on a rock and enjoy the view.
