You wouldn’t think that there are many wineries in Pelican State, and you’d be correct. The few that we do have have become community gathering spots with summer concerts, wine tastings, and special events that turn into fais do dos with good times flowing well into the night. This particular winery in Louisiana is a bit of a hidden gem, but well worth the drive out to the countryside. Let’s check it out:
The name “Wild Bush Vineyards” may not ring a bell, but you may remember this vineyard’s former name: Pontchartrain Vineyards.
Pontchartrain Vineyards was a local winery in southeastern Louisiana for about 30 years, producing locally made wines that were quick to fly off the shelves in the area. NOLA natives Monica Bourgeois and Neil Gernon purchased the vineyard and have big plans for its future.
You can make a reservation
ahead of time or swing by. Be sure to check the hours of operation for the tastings in advance.
