There are some places that are worth the road trip. When you’re in the mood for a delicious po’boy, then you’ll love this delightful family-run shop over in St. Bernard Parish. Let’s take a look at what makes this place so special.
When Elliot Gaspard purchased the Arabi Food Store in 1973, he had no idea it would become such a local landmark.
In the beginning, he sold your average groceries and fresh meats. It didn’t take long before he began serving hot plates like roast beef and ham po’boys to locals. They quickly became a hit, and a full-service kitchen was added so they could expand their menu.
When you step inside, you’ll instantly feel like part of the family.
From muffulettas to chicken cordon bleu, there’s something for everyone. They also have daily specials featuring dishes like lasagna, pork chops, and more.
They’re certainly a local favorite! Shrimp, roast beef, catfish, BBQ beef… there are dozens to choose from. Your best bet is to go in with some friends and each order a different po’boy so you can share among the table.
While the po'boys certainly stand out, all of the sandwiches here are pretty impressive!
No matter what time of day you visit, you're in for a delicious experience.
