It’s the perfect time of year to get outside and explore this beautiful state of ours. Located in the heart of Lafayette lies this picture perfect nature park that the entire family will enjoy. So, gas up the car and set off on an adventure that will take you through some truly spectacular scenery.
The Acadiana Park Nature Station is an education and research facility located in the northwestern part of Lafayette. The Nature Station was established in 1978, focusing on educational workshops and field trips for kids and adults.
From boardwalk to gravel, these trails will lead you through the 150-acre park. This natural oasis is the perfect way to spend an afternoon with the family.
Since the nature park is nestled along the Dan Deballion Canal, it’s a great place to launch your canoe and take to the water to explore the area from an entirely different perspective.
The nature park offers several guides trail tours, including a night hike which is offered on the last Saturday of every month. After watching a brief slide show about the nocturnal wildlife in the area, you’ll take to the trails to see the nature park come alive at night.
