For another fun trail, you can't go wrong with the Tammany Trace, a converted rail trail that measures 31 miles. Along the way, you'll pass some seriously charming towns, such as Covington, Mandeville, Lacombe, Abita Springs, and Slidell. For a healthy dose of wildlife, our next recommendation is a trip to Lake Martin. This place is perfect for birding enthusiasts, but it's also teeming with alligators.
