After all, the Bluegrass State is known for its fried chicken (thanks to KFC), but we offer much more than this savory, southern dish. In fact, there’s a newer chicken joint in town that has been given the honor as one of the Top 100 Places to Eat in the U.S. in 2020, a list created by Yelp. A favorite unassuming spot in Louisville, Yummy Pollo in Kentucky is definitely on everyone’s radar now and if you have yet to try its incredible chicken and sides, the time is now.
There are a surprising number of amazing strip mall restaurants in Kentucky that are worth a visit and one in Louisville is getting national attention.
Yummy Pollo was named one of the top 100 places to eat in America in 2020 (it was #84) and we couldn't agree more! If you've happened upon this unassuming spot, then you know this local gem is very deserving of such an honor.
Yummy Pollo does not serve up fried chicken like many other local spots, rather you'll find the most delicious Peruvian-style, charcoal fired rotisserie chicken, constantly made fresh inside the restaurant.
You know an eatery is good when there is a line out the door, and you'll often find that if you visit Yummy Pollo at a peak meal time. But don't let that deter you - the line goes quickly and you can then choose to dine in at a table or take your meal to go.

And what's the most popular menu item at Yummy Pollo? Well, the chicken of course!
Your chicken is served with two sides at a a very reasonable price. There are several hot and cold sides that include southern favorites like mashed potatoes, but also must-try dishes such as cilantro lime rice and yuca fries.
